The College of Social Sciences hosts a series of forums starting in November, aiming at cultivating new teachers’ and postgraduate students’ capabilities of applying research project funds, submitting research papers in journals, publishing monographs, and so forth.
The fourth forum will be discussing the experience of writing and publishing scholarly monographs shared by Professor Pei-chia Lan. She is the author of “Global Cinderellas: Migrant Domestics and Newly Rich Employers in Taiwan” and “Raising Global Families:
Parenting, Immigration, and Class in Taiwan and the US,” and has won many awards for her writing, including the 8th Academia Sinica Scholarly Monograph Award in humanities and social sciences in 2019. During the forum, she will share her experience of turning dissertations into books, how to contact English publishers, and the differences between writing scholarly monographs in English and Mandarin Chinese.
