On June 4, 2026, the College of Social Sciences at National Taiwan University welcomed the U.S.-Taiwan-European Next Generation Working Group, a delegation composed of emerging policy and academic leaders from the United States, Taiwan, and Europe, and co-hosted a policy forum entitled “Tech-Security Nexus: Taiwan’s Strategic Role in Democratic Alliances” with the Institute of East Asian Studies at the University of California, Berkeley.
The forum brought together scholars, policy practitioners, and experts from different countries to engage in in-depth discussions on a range of critical issues, including technological innovation, economic security, supply chain resilience, artificial intelligence governance, and Taiwan’s strategic role within networks of democratic partnerships. Participants also exchanged views on the increasingly interconnected relationship between Taiwan’s technology and security policies, while exploring ways to deepen cooperation among the United States, Taiwan, and Europe in response to a rapidly evolving global technological and geopolitical landscape.
