On March 9, 2026, a delegation of faculty and students from the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University led by Ambassador John Hennessy-Niland visited the College of Social Sciences, National Taiwan University, officially launching the Taiwan MVP U.S.–Taiwan educational exchange.

At noon, a graduate student roundtable was arranged and moderated by Yang Rui-Chung, Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at NTU’s College of Social Sciences and an alumnus of both universities. Graduate students majoring in International Relations/Affairs from the two institutions engaged in an in-depth discussion on the development of U.S.–Taiwan relations, with particular focus on economic security and military cooperation. The lively exchange reflected the strong interest of the younger generation in the U.S.–Taiwan partnership and in broader Indo-Pacific regional and economic security issues. This event also serves as an important milestone of the College’s Taiwan MVP Project with the Bush School of Government and Public Services.
