The GARC announces an international academic conference on "Same-sex Marriage in Asia," scheduled for October 27–28, 2025. The conference aims to bring together scholars and practitioners from various countries to discuss the impact of same-sex marriage policies on legal traditions, cultural values, and social systems in Asian countries that have legalized same-sex marriage or are taking steps to protect the rights of same-sex partners. It will also examine how these factors influence the development of same-sex marriage systems. Through an interdisciplinary dialogue on the changing nature of marriage and family institutions, we seek to explore new theoretical and practical possibilities for legal and social policies to promote gender equality.
