〔第一部分〕 (1) Introduction to Social Assistance Systems in Indonesia
(2) A review of social policy responses to the COVID-19 epidemic in four Southeast Asian countries
講者:Dr. Tauchid Komara Yuda (Lecturer, Department of Social Development & Welfare, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia)
主持:臺大社工系 汪書華 副教授
講者介紹:
Dr. Tauchid Komara Yuda is a teaching staff at the Department of Social Development & Welfare, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Indonesia. His areas of research expertise are in policies and politics of welfare regime change with reference to Indonesia, Southeast Asia. The range of his publications includes papers in Social Policy & Administration, Social Policy & Society, International Journal of Social Welfare, International Social Work, Journal of International and Comparative Social Policy, Public Administration & Development, and Political Studies Review (forthcoming).
演講內容:
This presentation aimed to review the social policy responses to COVID-19 in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand. So far, the crisis expanded social protection through temporary schemes, with rare reforms, and opened greater possibilities for future institutionalization of new policies. Still, these are different sets of measures from the previous crisis, which have been characterized by minimal systemic changes. The variegated responses of countries reveal hitherto unexplored policy implications for the Southeast Asian region.
〔第二部分〕(1) Introduction to Social Assistance Systems in Singapore

演講內容:
This presentation will combine topline findings from two of my research projects. I will begin by outlining findings from my research on In-Work Poverty among the Young. I will discuss job polarity among young workers, in terms of wages, job search, training, and mental well-being. This will be followed by a discussion of digital inequality and the need for universal digital access, from a participatory action research that I led during Covid-19.
